Not Where You Will Be

These next three statements can describe everyone who reads this encouragement.

You are not where you should be.
You are not where you will be.
But at least you are not where you were.

Simple and profound, these statements really get directly to where all of us are (or at least should be) in our Christian walk.  Be challenged today with the simplicity of these words.  Take a step back and examine your life and heart.  You may not be where you should be but are you continuing to press toward the mark?  Are you daily growing and becoming more and more like Christ your Savior?  Are you allowing yourself to remain pliable in the Potter’s hands?

If the answers to those questions are ‘Yes,’ then rest assured that you are not where you will be. Daily you are becoming ‘pure and blameless’ as Philippians 2 encourages you to become.  Daily you are being ‘transformed’ as Romans challenges. Daily you are experiencing the growth and development of God’s holiness in your life.

That should cause you to shout with exceeding great joy that you are not where you used to be! Moreover, you should have an even greater shout of victory knowing that you are being daily changed and transformed into someone who looks more and more like Jesus! You are a ’new creation,’ ’created in Christ Jesus,’ ’to display the splendor of your Father God!’

As 2 Corinthians 3:18 reminds you, it is the Spirit of the Lord Who is working in you. He is changing you into the image of the Lord Himself. You are changing ‘from glory to glory’ into the likeness of Christ!   REJOICE! This is wonderful news!
