What Are You Looking At?
Hebrews 12:2 simply says, “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus.” There is so much power in these seven words. Whether you are needing comfort, help, direction, financial blessing, healing, wisdom, strength, forgiveness, or faith, they are all found in Jesus. When your eyes are FIXED upon Him, then all else will go out of focus. He will be your focus. Your answer is found in Him!
Consider the illustration of a vulture and a hummingbird. They both inhabit the desert areas of the U.S. The vulture circles the skies looking for decaying flesh and he finds it. The hummingbird flies through the air looking for new life in full bloom and he finds it. It is the same desert, but the focus of the two creatures are completely opposite. The point is this: you will find what it is you are looking for!
Therefore, I encourage you to change your focus away from your problems and onto Christ. Shift your focus from trying to find the answer onto the One who already has the answer. Move your focus off the illness and onto the Healer.
“You don’t understand. It isn’t that easy!” (you say)
I know. And, yes, I do understand. I assure you that this Pastor is “Practicing What He Preaches!” With a steadfastness and constant verbal proclamation, I remind myself of where my help comes from. Psalm 121:2 says it about as plain and straightforward as anyone could ever express. “My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” Guess what? That is where your help comes from also! Do not allow yourself to become discouraged when you do not see the manifestation of the answer you need. Instead, see it with your faith-filled eyes! Remind yourself to “Fix your eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen.” (2 Cor. 4:18)
