The Opportunity To Do Good To EVERYONE!
In 1856, C. Kingley wrote in a letter, “The devil is very busy, and no one knows better than he that nothing is stronger than its weakest part.” From this comment has grown the familiar phrase, “A chain is only as strong as its weakest link.” Having this thought in mind spurs us to strengthen every member of the church.
God has created and established His church to be the living, breathing, life-giving body of Christ within this world. His plan and purpose for His church in its simplest form is to ‘save the world.’
Yet, saving the world is no small deed. Being the body of Christ requires strength, vision, and perseverance. Therefore, the church body must be built up–established in a full and complete knowledge of Christ. (Ephesians 4)
Last week, I presented and implemented a care structure in our church which we are calling “Full Circle.” This is not a program but an ‘organic’ way of connecting and strengthening every member of our body. I have asked eleven people to come alongside me in making sure every single person in the body of Christ at Lighthouse receives and experiences the blessing of being a part of this body as we grow together in Christ.
We know that just as Proverbs 27:17 teaches, “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another;” together, we will be strengthened and sharpened by the members of our church. We are a church as described in Galatians 6:10. “So then, as we have the opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are in the household of faith.”
