Victory And Your God Connection

Last week I concluded my weekly encouragement with the following two paragraphs.

In the same way you believed in your heart and then confessed with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ use your faith to believe and speak the victory God has planned for you!

Determine that you will run the race, fight the good fight, and keep the faith! (2 Timothy 4:7)

Today, I ask you, “Are you remaining determined to run the race, fight the good fight, and keep the faith?”

Your unwavering determination makes the difference between victory and defeat!

Let me remind you of the key focuses from last week’s message. You are empowered to fight the fight, run the race, and keep the faith by God’s grace which sustains you, strength to stand firm, and willpower to keep on keeping on.

As we shared, most failures take place with the middle focus, strength, because your strength is developed during the time you spend connecting with God.

God has given you many venues to connect with Him such as: praise, worship, reading His Word, studying His Word, meditating on His Word, prayer, fasting, tithing, assembling together as His body, etc… None of these are optional add-ons. God sincerely wants you to make the most of each venue and connect with Him in every way He makes possible.

Here is an illustration of how only connecting with God through 1 or 2 ways doesn’t develop the strength required to keep the faith. A person so thoroughly enjoys praise, that they use praise to connect with God but never study or meditate on His Word. The result is a weakened foundation so when the storms of life come, disaster comes as well.

I challenge you to make a list off the many ways God desires for you and Him to connect. Then, consider how often you connect with Him through each way. Remain determined to connect with God through every venue possible.

You will find strength building up within you as you receive the power of His grace and develop your willpower.
