Where To Begin With The Year Of Increase
Thank you for the remarkable way you have received God’s call for this to be a “Year of Increase” where “Christ must increase!” Indeed, with Christ’s return at hand, it is more vital than ever that He is prominent in our lives.
With that in mind, our thoughts go to Matthew 6:33 where Christ tells us that increase in life comes when we seek God first. “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Therefore, we seek God more than seeking an answer or a provision. We see Him, His way of being and His way of doing.
(1) Christ must increase and self decrease in every area of our lives and (2) we must seek God’s kingdom first in every area of our lives. EVERY ASPECT of life must be impacted and, most definitely, it will be greatly apparent in our prayer life. So…”How is your prayer life?” Would you like for it to be more powerful, more impacting?
You have several opportunities to let Christ be glorified more through your prayer time. First, let me encourage you that you are a vital part of our all-church focus on fasting and prayer. Make an asserted effort to diligently be involved in these 21 days of prayer and fasting.
Also, we are beginning a new 4-week interactive study on Wednesday evenings featuring a powerful teaching entitled, ‘The Circle Maker,’ which uses the story of Honi, the circle maker, who prayer-walked his way around a devastating drought in first-century BC Israel until the rains came. This 4-week church-wide experience will guide you into praying bold, tenacious prayers that honor God and make the impossible come true.
Alisa and I pray every day for you, your family, and your ministry here at LPC!
Increasing in Christ,
Pastor Gary & Alisa
