Refuse To Be Denied
In 2008 there was an event in the news that really caught America’s attention. The Associated press reported that the company in Chicago, Republic Windows and Doors–which had literally closed its windows and shut its doors to its 240 employees by filing bankruptcy and closing its plant–had become a symbol of the plight of American workers. However, the 240 unemployed workers refused to leave quietly and staged a sit-in at their former factory.
For six days America watched these workers adamantly defend their right to due compensation. U.S. Rep. Luis Gutierrez, helped broker the deal which gave each Republic employee eight weeks’ salary, all accrued vacation pay and two months’ paid health care, working out to about $7,000 apiece.
These former employees were unwavering in their pursuit of what was owed to them. They refused to be denied. With that story in mind, ask yourself, “Have I been denied what is rightfully mine?”
The enemy of your soul wants you to quietly give in to whatever he hands you or denies you. However, like these workers, you can adamantly defend your right to all that God has promised you! Your salvation through Jesus Christ, as you continue to live under His Lordship, includes remarkably wonderful blessings from God. God has promised you healing, direction, provision, peace, wisdom, comfort, joy, eternal salvation, success, and more! His Spirit lives in you to work through you.
Let me challenge you to refuse to be denied what is rightfully yours through Christ!
