Getting From Where You Are To Where You Will Be!
“We’re not where we should be. We’re not where we will be. But at least we’re not where we were.”
The above statement is quoted from a news broadcast I heard. This simple and profound statement really gets directly to where all of us are (or at least should be) in our Christian walk. Scripturally, no one is where they should be, but as a believer each one of us must ask ourselves questions like: am I continuing to press toward the mark? Am I daily growing and becoming more and more like Christ my Savior? Am I allowing myself to remain pliable in the Potter’s hands?
If the answers to those questions are ‘Yes,’ then rest assured that you are not where you will be. Daily you are being transformed. Daily you are becoming ‘pure and blameless’ as Philippians 2 encourages you to become. Daily you are experiencing the growth and development of holiness in your life. Lastly, knowing this also brings to a shout of victory because you are not where you used to be!
I thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for all that He provides in my life to enable me to become more like Him. I praise God Almighty that He has divinely placed certain ministry leaders and friends into my life to challenge me, stretch me, correct me, and guide me. Most importantly, I daily rely upon the comfort and teaching from the Holy Spirit as He guides me into all truth!
We can all be encouraged to realize that, by God’s empowering and life-changing grace, we are not where we used to be. We are also challenged, by that same grace, to strive toward becoming all that He wants us to be and endeavor to accomplish all that He has created us in Christ to do!
May these thoughts continue to impress upon your heart as you seek God this week!
