Your Hope-Based Life of Victory

Last week I shared some thoughts on Luke 6:47-48 saying, “The foundation you build upon determines the strength and longevity of what you build.  This principle permeates through all that you do whether in your personal life, spiritual life, or ministry!”

Consider the importance of building a foundation of hope.

First, your hope must be sure, steadfast, constant, unchanging.  “Hope that is seen is no hope at all.” (Rom. 8:24)  Too often, we allow ourselves to lose hope and do not realize it.  We find satisfaction from what already exists (what is seen) and fail to continue moving forward with vision and direction toward what is unseen.  All of us have heard the illustration of a boat on a river.  If you stop paddling, you will not simply stay in a fixed position, but start going backward.  Without the vision and strength which comes from Biblical hope, you do not “paddle forward” spiritually but drift backwards. You easily find satisfaction in where you are now instead of God’s vision of where you should be going!

Second, a lack of hope or a weak hope directly impacts your faith.  Hebrews 11:1 shows clearly the connection between faith and hope.  “Faith is the substance of what you hope for.”  If you have no hope or a confident expectation of what God has promised to do, then your faith is directly decreased because it is the substance, or reality, of what you are hoping for.  That thought is seen again in Ephesians 2:12 where it reveals to us that, without God (without Christ), we were also without hope in this world.

Therefore, be challenged today to revive your hope.  Get into the Word of God and let it refresh you as God reveals His vision–this is your hope!  Allow the Holy Spirit to reignite the supernatural flame of hope within you. Establish your foundation of hope.  It will soon strengthen your faith. Great victory, remarkable success, unique insights will soon be manifested throughout your life and ministry!

I bless you with the anointed Word of God, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
