VICTORY: No Matter The Circumstance

“I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]” (Jn 16:33 AMP)

Question: “Do you believe Jesus, Paul, and Stephen lived victorious lives?”  We would answer “YES” for all three.  Think for a moment of when each faced stoning.

•Jesus – When the crowds decided to stone Him, He simply walked through the crowd unharmed and continued along His way.
•Paul – When the crowds stoned him, he was left for dead.  Most Bible scholars believe that he actually died and God miraculously raised him from the dead.
•Stephen – When the crowd stoned him, he did not surrender his faith, but stood firm and went to be with the Lord.

Did the end result make a difference in their victorious lifestyle?  The answer is ‘No.’ They were each victorious in how they went through that trial.  This should be a guiding principle for you as well.  Your life is one of victory – “In Christ.”  As a believer, you are “In Christ.”  Is there death, sickness, pain, distress, or frustration “In Christ?”  No; of course not.  “In Christ” is abundant life, healing, peace, rest, and a yoke that is easy!  In this world we face troubles, but Jesus has promised that we have victory through Him!

Too often, we allow our focus to settle upon circumstances, situations, or problems which cause us to surrender to defeat.  God created you for victory, for dominion, to be more than conquerors. You are guaranteed to always be victorious regardless of the trial. Your witness and testimony for the greatness of God is in how you walk through trials and tribulations.  Your victorious life is a powerful witness to those around you that God is alive and actively working within every detail of your life.

You can declare each morning, “Christ has overcome the world and deprived it of any power to harm me.  My loving Savior has already conquered all things in this world.  I am ‘In Christ’!  I am in a fortress of peace and rest.  I have courage and confidence in the One I have placed my hope, faith, and trust.  I am certain and undaunted. No weapon formed against me shall prosper!”
